    OPC-UA

    MQTT
    A lightweight publish/subscribe messaging protocol often used for IoT telemetry when bandwidth or connectivity is constrained.
    OEE
    Overall Equipment Effectiveness—a manufacturing KPI combining availability, performance, and quality to quantify productive manufacturing time.
    RAG
    Retrieval-Augmented Generation—a pattern where LLMs retrieve relevant documents or data before answering, improving factual grounding for enterprise knowledge bases.
    Data mesh
    A decentralized approach to data architecture where domain teams own their data products while sharing standards and governance across the organization.
    SCADA
    Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition—systems that monitor and control industrial processes, often integrating PLCs, HMIs, and historians.
    HMI
    Human-Machine Interface—operator dashboards and panels used to visualize and control machinery and processes.
    MES
    Manufacturing Execution System—software that tracks and documents production from order to finished goods, often tied to ERP and plant systems.
